Meet the Candidate

The Hon. William J. Condon is a former Justice of the New York State Supreme Court, having presided over hundreds of major felony and prominent civil cases over 14 years, from 2009-2022. He has sat as a Trial Court Justice in both Suffolk and Bronx counties. Justice Condon is a Past President of the New York State Association of Supreme Court Justices.

A graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and Hofstra Law School, Justice Condon began his legal career with the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office in 1986 as a Principal Assistant District Attorney prior to becoming Bureau Chief of the Suffolk County Trial Team for State Farm Insurance Company in 1993. He then served as a partner in a private law firm, Maffei & Condon LLP for three years prior to ascending to the Supreme Court Bench in 2009.

As a trial attorney, Justice Condon has taken scores of verdicts in both civil and criminal cases in virtually every venue in the metropolitan area. He is  a past Chairman of the Suffolk County Bar Association's Negligence Defense Committee and currently serves on the Supreme Court Committee of that organization. He has lectured on trial jurisprudence for the NY State Bar Association, the Suffolk County Academy of Law, Touro Law School, St. Joseph's College and Dowling College as well as the NY State Academy of Trial Lawyers. Justice Condon is a graduate of the U.S. Treasury Department's Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms National Academy, and has presided as Trial Judge in numerous Moot Court competitions with the Queens District Attorney's Office, St. John's Law School and Touro Law School.

Recently, Justice Condon had the privilege of serving on the Editorial Board of the New York State Bench Book for Trial Judges. He co-authored Chapter 10, Criminal Law, for that publication.

Justice Condon has been honored as Judge of the Year by the Suffolk County Court Officer's Association, the Suffolk County Criminal Bar Association and as Man of the Year by the Suffolk County Brehon Society.  Currently, he is the Managing Partner of CONDONLAW LLC, where he serves as an Arbitrator and Mediator for complex civil disputes, including Medical Malpractice, Labor Law and Contract cases.

Judge Condon has resided in Aquebogue for the past eight years and currently lives there with his wife, Denise. They have four children who live on Long Island and in New York City.
